The Forest Park Garden walk was
a hit with all who took the stroll on the
first annual event for the
town showcasing some fun yards.
Many folks want to start, or
begin a new from the past, a Garden Club for
Forest Park. It was a
good idea that they had, when they chose the day
following the event for Oak
Park and River Forest Garden Walk..
We spoke with all the gardeners
on the on the walk and mentioned to
them to join the Friends of
the Oak Park Conservatory and that way they
would have their event posted
to more people apt to attend these walks
in the future and perhaps to
coordinate an entire weekend event between
the two villages with guests
coming in from other states and spending the
weekend or more in the local
area. There are more than enough locations
for great food and fun in the
area. This was the first annual event for
Forest Park and the participants
were all keyed up and ready for more to
come. Marilyn Garapolo was
the primary driving force behind getting this
event into reality and must
be congratulated for the success. We noted
many other yards on the route
of the tour that could be a part of next years
show. The mayor, his honor
Anthony Calderone toured the gardens with
his wifeand visited with the
residents of his town. Now on with the show....
Gentle falling water makes a splash in design everywhere.
