Haven’t Got Enough of Garden Walks? 

If you’re up for a drive, a few late season garden walks are still on the calendar
to satisfy you. This will give you a chance to see what is in bloom later in 
the season and how gardeners are coping with the heat. 

August 3: 
The McHenry County Defenders’ “Natural Yards Walk” visits one property at
4707 Winnebago Dr.; Wonder Lake. Native prairie plants, woody plants and various 
grasses are arranged in scattered islands of natural landscaping.

August 4: 
The Galewood/Montclare Garden Club walk features a variety of city gardens. 
Open 1 pm. to 6 pm. $8. Tickets available the day of the walk at the

August 10: 
The Gardeners of Central Lake County walk showcases gardens in Libertyville,
Waukegan, Beach Park and Wadsworth. 8 am. to Noon.

September 7:
The McHenry County Defenders’ “Natural Yards Walk” visits one property at
10604 Shelley Ct.; Woodstock. Featuring a 300 foot frontage of native plants and flowers, 
vegetable and herb gardens and a three acre woodland.

September 14:
Logan Square Historic District House and Garden Walk. This is a self guided tour of
city-sized gardens in Logan Square area. 10 am to 5 pm. $8 in advance, $10 on the 
day of the walk. Tickets are available at Logan Square Preservation, 3024 W. Logan

September 14: 
Downers Doorsteps – Downers Grove Woman’s Club house and garden tour features
at least four homes. Ticket price includes luncheon. $20 in advance. $22 on the day
