Village Players
Theatre

Village Player's "FAVORITES FROM THE SILVER SCREEN."
review by Ed Vincent

The show was a hit, a home run,  a blast from the past, and
making  you want more.  Many of the hits from the  films of yesteryear were seamlessly joined and delivered to the ears
of the audience.  Jeanne Scherkenbach worked to bring this
fine creation to life and while it was on stage it lived well.

Oak Park's own gifted singer and light hearted theater lover
Jack Crowe sang and entertained with smiles and talent.  Paul Geiger, another Oak Parker can fill any room with warmth and charm, coming from a powerful and commanding baritone
voice.  Liz Fauntleroy and Jeanne Scherkenbach brought their
soprano charms to the show with power and beauty.

Ms. Scherkenbach has beautiful vocal clarity and strength
to her singing.  She is also a member of the Chicago Cabaret Professionals, and this group has a good reputation for some
very fine talent and Ms.
Scherkenbach must be at the front
of the pack.  Her warm smile and talent helped make this
a grand success.

Applause also goes to one of the best tenors today, Mr.
Franco Martorana for his songs and to the Village Players
for providing the rich theatre to make it all work so well.

Jeanne Scherkenbach is a member of the Chicago Cabaret Professionals and
CabaretHotLineOneLine.com named her one-woman show "Treasures from My Trunk" one of Chicago's top 10 cabaret shows for 2003.
